933 N Kings Road Nampa, ID 83655

What days do you work at your “talk therapy” office?

I have available hours from 9 am to 6 pm Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays.

Is there good parking at your office?

Yes, there is plenty of parking, because I am the only therapist in this building.

Is your office handicap-accessible?

Absolutely!

Are there clean bathrooms at your office?

Again, absolutely!

Where might I find your “equine therapy” office?

My ranch is located at:

5150 SE 2nd Avenue New Plymouth, ID 83655

What days do you offer “equine therapy”?

I have appointment hours on Thursdays and Fridays from 10 am to 4 pm.

Do you take insurance?

Yes, I do take many forms of insurance. I have a biller that checks on insurance coverage for you.

Ann, my biller, will check and make sure that the visits are covered and find out what your copay is prior to making an appointment.

How can I cancel an appointment?

That part is just as easy as making an appointment. You can cancel your own appointments on the portal, and it will give me an email alert to let me know.

Will I be charged if I cancel late or no-show an appointment?

Hopefully, we can come to an understanding that no one expects to miss an appointment.

My no-show rate is $40.

How can I make an appointment?

I use an Electronic Medical Records Portal.

If you call me or email me, I can send you a link to my portal to fill out the initial paperwork online and the scheduler will be a part of the menu.

You will have to create a portal password, and then you can see my availability.

The scheduler will email me to approve the date and time of your appointment. You can even set up email or text reminders!

What do I wear if I am booking an equine session?

BOOTS! Casual, comfy, weather-appropriate clothing works best.

Remember, you will be in a pasture with horses, dirt, and grime. It is an outside adventure (horses are not indoor animals), so a hat or gloves and a coat in the winter work the best.

What happens in the first session?

We get to know each other, and you get to let me know what I can do to help you!

It is a very casual conversation with some questions and answer time.

How long does therapy usually take?

I have seen people for years or only a few sessions. The best clients are the ones that like to work and understand ways to implement what we are working on together.

Do I have to lay on a couch?

Only if you want to…. I have a couch in my office. But sitting up and talking your situation over with me is probably the best way to figure things out.

Do you take notes during session?

I only do paperwork at the beginning of the initial time that we spend together so that I have a clear picture of what you need.

Then, I like to make sure my full attention is on the person with whom I am working.

After each session, I make a note of the visit (called progress notes) so that when you come for the next session, I already know what comes next. It is also my agreement with you that I am doing my job appropriately.

What about keeping what I say secret?

I must abide by the patient/doctor confidentiality agreement that is both legal and ethical for me to maintain. I don’t “keep secrets,” but all the things that we discuss are private and confidential.

I have a duty to report only things that are outside of that agreement. My job is to keep you safe and protect you, and that is the only area that confidentiality does not cover.

Can I ask you questions?

Absolutely! I am never going to ask you to do work that I myself have not done.

I have lots of experience, both personally and professionally. I like to be as transparent as possible to keep our sessions as real as possible.

Do you have kids of your own?

Yes! I am the very proud mother of two great men! They are 21 and 24 and, currently, both have very amazing lives in Orlando, Florida.

We have had struggles in our relationships together; through them, I have learned to be a great mom.

They both also have been diagnosed with ADHD, as have I. We have learned many life lessons because of this struggle and have found ways to make our inattention work for each of us… we are all three unique in the way our diagnosis presents.

What if my situation is unique?

Humans are humans; and although we each have things that are unique to our situations, most of the time I have experienced what is going on with you or have experience with helping others through similar situations.

What is your favorite movie?

The Princess Bride!!!!! Actually, I am a huge movie buff and can make any analogy with a movie reference. INCONCEIVABLE… no, really!
